COVID

As we’re still observing with concern numerous cases of covid infections in our countries, we kindly ask you to take the covid test before coming to Summer School.

Traveling to a summer school location

Our work will take place in the Bastion IV, so called „the Art Colony„, in the Josefov Fortress, which is part of the Jaroměř town. The address of the Bastion is Okružní 242, Josefov, 551 02, Jaroměř, see also the map.

In case you travel by train, please mind that the place is cca 30 minutes by walk far from the Jaroměř Train Station (see the map). Eventually, you can take a regular transit bus from the Train Station (stop Jaroměř žel. St.) to Josefov (stop Jaroměř, Josefov, Dělnický dům).

Specifics of the summer school area

We are going to spend few days in a baroque bastion which hasn´t been fully renovated yet after the withdrawal of the Army in 1990´s. A community of local artist now occupies the places and gradually tries to revitalize it and use it mostly for cultural activities. Nevertheless, the renewal process continues and therefore we ask all participants to get ready for limited comfort and rather provisory, „field “conditions. Please mind that animals (goats, peacocks, horse) may occasionally move freely in the bastion courtyard and that there is no internet connection in the bastion.

There are small groceries and drugstores and shops with common stuff near the bastion but in case you need something special, for example medicine, please bring it with you. There may not be the chance to buy or get in on the spot.

Meals: 

Breakfast, lunch, and first dinner will be provided by local restaurants. Other dinners will be prepared together by the participants, and ingredients will be provided by the organizers.  Meals will be vegetarian or vegan.
